Search Drift: What Odysee Ranks #1 for "Trans Healthcare"

Published April 23, 2026 · OdyseeWatchdog Investigative Team

Our scanner runs the same 20 benign search queries against Odysee's own public search API on a regular cadence and captures the top-ranked result. Between the April 22 scan and the April 23 scan — 24 hours apart, with no other operational changes on our side — five queries already have a new #1 result. Two of those five got worse.

"trans healthcare"

Yesterday's top result was a @DollarVigilante video titled "How To Change Society, Reduce Population and Make a Fortune by Kill and Billind". That was already bad.

Today's top result is worse:

"SuicideGPT, ‘Trans Genocide’ vs White Genocide — FF Ep208"

Channel: @redicetv · a creator banned from YouTube in October 2019 for hate speech

Read what that is. A trans person — or the parent of a trans child — searches the term "trans healthcare" on Odysee. The platform returns, as its single top-ranked result, a white-nationalist podcast episode whose title scare-quotes the concept of "trans genocide" while asserting a real one against white people. The word "SuicideGPT" is in the title.

This is not a bug in the algorithm. Odysee ranks search results by LBC staked on each claim. Whoever is behind @redicetv spent crypto — locked collateral, not a fee — to put that specific video at the top for that specific query. Odysee's search is a paid auction, and this is what the auction cleared at. (Our pay-to-rank investigation covers the mechanism in detail.)

"vaccine"

Yesterday's top result was a UK financial-regulator video that was only loosely relevant — unhelpful but not harmful. Today's top result:

"An Inconvenient Study that prove vaccines are making us sick"

Channel: @FreeMax · 100,560 LBC staked

A person searching the most common public-health term of the last decade — "vaccine" — is now served a denial video first. Not as one of many. First. The creator put 100,560 LBC on the claim specifically to win that ranking. They did.

The Other Three Changes

For completeness, the remaining three queries whose #1 result shifted between April 22 and April 23:

"lgbtq rights"

→ "AI Music Video Experiment 2 - Jackson F. Smith - Cantina Rag"

Irrelevant result now ranks first — shows the algorithm is effectively random where no extremist has bought the top.

"january 6"

→ "Trollcow Related Random Images Slideshow 37"

Top result on one of the most politically loaded queries of the decade is a random slideshow. Nobody has bought the top spot for this query today — so the algorithm returns junk.

"black lives matter"

→ "How the Freedom Movement Claims Its Spiritual Advantage"

Drifted from conspiracy framing to an ambient esoteric video — neither useful nor specifically harmful.

What This Measures

A proper search algorithm gets better over time as it learns what users actually want and punishes manipulation. Odysee's measurably gets worse. On any query where extremists have motivated capital, the extremists win. On any query where they don't, the result is random garbage. There is no discernible third category — no case where the top-1 result is recognisably useful, relevant, and not paid for.

We publish the live state of every tracked query at /search-exposure. The data regenerates twice daily. If you want to watch the auction in real time — this is the page.
