Self-Stake Fifth Reading — @CosmicEvent Alone Holds 2,100,080 LBC Across Twelve Round-Number Stakes

Published July 2, 2026 · OdyseeWatchdog Investigative Team

We have measured the self-stake count on Odysee five times since May: 29 → 50 → 51 → 53 formal channels. The fourth reading noted three brand-new single-video accounts each staking exactly 100,000 LBC. This fifth reading is different: it is dominated by a single channel that has quietly built the largest self-stake concentration on the entire platform.

One Channel, Twelve Round Numbers

@CosmicEvent is not new to our coverage — it appeared in our search-buy investigation holding two of the top five staked results for the query "israel." What the fifth reading makes clear is the scale of the position. Across twelve videos the channel has staked amounts that are exact round numbers — the statistical fingerprint of self-staking rather than organic audience tips:

[LBC staked] [Video title — verbatim]
1,000,000 · "Covid was invented for control. The vax was for population control."
100,000 · "The current Iranian attack on Israel is the largest since the beginning of the war"
100,000 · "Brother Nate explaining why Iran hasnt wiped Israel off the map"
100,000 · "Guess Who is Named 12000 Times in the Epstein Files"
100,000 · "GRAPHENE ACTIVATION INFLAMMATION MUTATION DEATH STATION"
100,000 · "NEVER FORGET - When the World Changed"
100,000 · "Heres How You Know Someone Is Evil."
100,000 · "ARE THEY POISONING EVERYTHING?"
…plus four further videos at exactly 100,000 LBC each. Total: 2,100,080 LBC across 12 stakes.

The editorial character of the set is not ambiguous: anti-Israel war framing, Holocaust-adjacent "Epstein files" antisemitism, and COVID depopulation conspiracy. The channel separately carries lower-tipped items our scanner classifies as Terrorism and Hate Speech ("The Holocaust Hoax Exposed," "VACCINE TERRORISM: WORLD HELD HOSTAGE"). The seven-figure money, though, is parked on the round-number self-stakes above — every one of them still classified Under Review, none actioned.

We Confirmed the Seven-Figure Stake Live

A 1,000,000-LBC stake on a single video is large enough that we do not ask readers to take our scanner's word for it. On publication day we queried Odysee's own claim_search API — the same endpoint that powers the platform's search box — and read back the effective_amount field directly:

[effective_amount] [channel] [title] — live, 2026-07-02
1,000,000.0 · @CosmicEvent · "Covid was invented for control…"
1,000,003.0 · @Unknown · "WEF Covid Acts declared criminal…"
207,000.0 · @DollarVigilante · "Planet Mind Control…"

These are not artifacts of our tooling. They are the live values Odysee's ranking algorithm reads to decide what surfaces first. The self-stake mechanism we documented across the first, third, and fourth readings is not slowing down; it is concentrating.

Two Brand-New 100K Stakes Since the Fourth Reading

Platform-wide there are now 30 flagged items staked at exact multiples of 100,000 LBC. Two of them are new since our 2026-06-16 fourth reading — placed in the intervening fortnight, both still Under Review:

[LBC] [Channel] — [Video title]
100,000 · @OurFreeSociety — "Never Let Your Government Tell You Who Your Enemies Are"
100,000 · @StopTheCrime — "The DARPA Pandemic"

The pattern is now a steady-state feature of the platform: whenever an operator wants a video at the top of a search result, they lock six figures of their own LBC to it, and Odysee ranks it there and collects its 5% on the transaction loop.

What Should Happen

The minimum viable response from Odysee is unchanged from every prior reading and still has not happened: (a) label stake-boosted items as paid promotion, so a 1,000,000-LBC self-stake is not presented as organic; (b) cap the self-stake share that influences ranking; and (c) publish the never-filed DSA Article 15 transparency report including the per-reading self-stake count and total LBC pool. None of these require legal or moderation expertise — only a product decision.

The current self-stake count, total LBC laundered, and Odysee's implied 5% take are reflected on the Stats page and refresh on every deploy. The full per-item list with URLs is in /data/flagged.json.
