Self-Stake Sixth Reading — 54 Channels, and the Stake That Vanished by Doubling
Published July 19, 2026 · OdyseeWatchdog Investigative Team
The series since May now reads 29 → 50 → 51 → 53 → 54 channels meeting the formal likely-self-stake criteria, measured against 3,576 channels analysed (up from 3,531 on June 16). The combined pool is 5,160,090 LBC — up 90,622 in 33 days — and the count of items staked at exact multiples of 100,000 LBC has climbed from 30 to 34.

Two arrivals, already familiar
The two channels entering the formal count are the same two our fifth reading caught live against Odysee's API on July 2: @OurFreeSociety (100,000 LBC at 99.9% top-1 share on "Never Let Your Government Tell You Who Your Enemies Are") and @StopTheCrime (100,000 LBC at a perfect 100.0% top-1 share on "The DARPA Pandemic"). What was a live API observation two weeks ago is now a durable feature of the dataset. Neither stake has moved; neither item has been actioned. @CosmicEvent's 2,100,081-LBC position — the platform's largest — is likewise unchanged.
The interesting movement is an exit
On June 16, @PrivacyGuides sat in the formal count: 119,048 LBC across three videos with 99.7% of it on one — the classic single-wallet fingerprint. Today the channel holds 219,048 LBC across four videos, because someone added a second stake of exactly 100,000 LBC on a different video. And that removed the channel from the count: two equal six-figure positions mean the top video now carries only 54.2% of the channel's stake, under our top-1-share threshold.
Read that again: the channel doubled its self-stake, and by doing so vanished from the self-stake metric.
The dilution blind spot, and the fix
Top-1 share was chosen because a wallet promoting one video produces extreme concentration. But a staker running multiple equal round-number positions dilutes the ratio without diluting the behaviour. The 34 exact-100K-multiple stakes platform-wide are the better fingerprint — organic tipping produces messy numbers; treasury operations produce round ones. From the seventh reading onward we will publish both measures: the top-1-share count (comparable with the historical series) and a round-number-position count that dilution cannot hide from. This is also why the series' single-number headline should be read as a floor, not a census.
Why this matters
Stake buys search ranking on Odysee (pay-to-rank). A self-staked position is a paid placement with no "sponsored" label, and Odysee takes its implied 5% on the activity. Every reading in this series is reproducible from the public dataset.
